Town of Warwick Selectboard July 2, 2007 Minutes Members present: Rick Abbott, Patricia Lemon Members absent: Jim Toth Others: Jeannette Fellows, Charlotte Weltzin, Rosa & Jon Calcari, George Day, Miryam Williamson The Board signed FY07 Warrant 26. I. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall by Chairman Lemon. II. Minutes Lemon Moved to approve the minutes of the June 26 meeting as amended. Abbott seconded. VOTED. III. Reports 1. Highway- Received report of past week's activity. 2. ACO -received $3000 spay/neuter grant 3. Conservation Commission - report on dam repair work at Sheomet Pond, Richards Reservoir, and Laurel Lake 4. Town Clock - Day presented some ideas from the proposal D'Avanza of NH submitted about clock repair; has not been able to connect with Graf from Maine. Lemon Moved to invite the Trustees of the Unitarian Church to a Board meeting to discuss the clock repair work. Abbott seconded. VOTED. 5. BOS - Lemon bought 3 dehumidifiers for Town Hall. Following up on a phone call, Lemon will notify MassPIRG rep to contact Chief Peters to let Police Dept. know when their group will be in town soliciting opinions. Lemon Moved to declare the second desk in the Selectboard office surplus and offer it to any town entity that can make use of it. Abbott seconded. VOTED. Appointments Lemon Moved to appoint Arlene Lincoln to the Personnel Committee until 6/30/08 and to appoint Cornelia Montgomery to the Cultural Council for a 3 year term to expire 6/30/10. Abbott seconded. VOTED. IV. Public Comment - R. Calcari questioned Board about creating a foster care agreement or adoption contract for stray dogs in town. J. Calcari requested the Board to appoint a Field Driver; ACO is having trouble with loose animals on Rt. 78 in road by Hubbard homestead. V. Presentations/Discussions 1. Special Town Meeting Date -to vote on old bills, accept Hettie-Belle Lane, and possible zoning changes from Planning Board. Will get schedule from Town Clerk. Lemon Moved to schedule a Special Town Meeting for October 15, Mon, at 7 p.m. Abbott seconded. VOTED. 2. Warwick Community School -Asst. Supt. Doiron has agreed her office will draw up specifications, put the job out to bid, if necessary, and supervise the work within $5000 budget for scraping and painting fascia on the school. Lemon will continue investigating lease for elementary school. Lemon Moved that the Board authorize the chairman to sign the Mass. School Building Authority maintenance certification.
